Dear Rizwan,

Can you please tell me,why is it that when you set a user policy in server 2003, clients with different platforms do not get restricted.

I would like to know how can you configure windows server 2003 to act as both NAT router and DNS provider.

Firstly nice article. It's good to see other people out there debunking myths and explaining facts. I don't know what date this article was written on, I just thought I would add a little bit to the conversation.

I would just like to update some of the facts. I am not sure about Vodafone and Kindanet, but I know for sure that TFL/Connect uses the correct IEC calculations for KiB,MiB,GiB etc i.e. 2^10, 2^20, 2^30.

I would also note that Bits and Bytes have different representations. Bytes have a Capitalised 'B' and bits have a small 'b'. You seem to mix them around in your article.

Finally the table at the end of your article, does not seem to share the same information with the data you posted 2 paragraphs earlier. I know you are trying to make a point, but stick to 1 set of data. By continously switching how you abbreviate data units, and changing the data sets around for each set of calculations you are weakening your own argument (which are quite fair and valid points i might add).

The figures for your last table are also incorrect. You postulated that Kindanet has 1Mib/s connection with unlimited data cap for $308, and arrived at a value of $0.38/MiB.

The math here is incorrect: the correct math would be,

$308 / (The number of seconds in a month * 1Mib/s / 8 )
which is 308/((365.25/12)*24*60*60/8) giving $0.000936953/MiB

or approximately 0.09 cents per MiB

Other than those few small points, I enjoyed reading your article. Good job, and hope to see more.

You have not specified which platforms these various packages run on. You are comparing Kidanet (ADSL) with Vodafone's wireless packages. Connect runs both ADSL and wireless internet, while Vodafone only runs wireless.

Agree but the Apple App Store doesn't allow people living in Fiji to purchase apps - only access the free ones. I think Apple needs to be a little like Android and allow anyone access to paid apps so until they do, Apples products are about as useful to us in Fiji as a banjo playing monkey balanced on a cartwheel. :)
